Changing the 3D printing landscape - new "Talk Innovation" podcast episode from the European Patent Office

The European Patent Office (EPO) has just released new episode of its  "Talk Innovation" podcast spotlighting the Austrian company Cubicure, a spin-out from the Technical University of Vienna, focused on developing and selling innovative 3D printing machines and materials. Moderated by the European IP Helpdesk's Stephanie Weber the episode features Prof. Jürgen Stampfl, a renowned researcher in 3D printing technologies and Cubicure’s co-founder, and Karin Hofmann, one of TU Vienna's leading patent and licensing managers, who share their first-hand experience, views and recommendations with regard to technology transfer.

Thanks to a strong patent portfolio Cubicure successfully navigated early-stage funding rounds and was able to build strategic partnerships. While tracing the story of the young company, the case study also highlights how the development of a long-term technology transfer strategy with smart distribution of usage rights allowed the Technical University of Vienna to achieve scientific breakthroughs and commercialisation success with its industry partner, Ivoclar.

The podcast is linked to a detailed case study recently published within the EPO's  technology transfer series, which has been developed in collaboration with the European IP Helpdesk team.
